Grading and Drainage

Grading and Drainage plans are developed to both sculpt the land to meet the needs of the project and to make sure that it drains properly.  We take the architectural and landscape design plans provided by the client or other consultants and generate a working grading and drainage plan for review by the various authorities (usually Planning and Engineering departments).   Most of the local jurisdictions have restrictions and limits, many of them severe, on the amount of grading, allowable height and volume of cuts and fills, requirements for protection of natural space, specific leach field approaches and protection of natural resources such as streams and control of erosion.  Our job is to help navigate among these sometimes competing interests and find a workable, affordable and approvable plan for development.
