Grading and Drainage

Grading & Drainage
Grading and Drainage plans are developed to sculpt the land for the needs of the project and to ensure proper drainage. Many local jurisdictions have significant restrictions on the extent of grading, allowable height and volume of cuts and fills, natural space requirements, specific septic system approaches and protection of natural resources such as streams. The State has requirements for thoughtful and detailed management of stormwater runoff, onsite treatment of runoff to reduce pollutant effects and control of erosion.

We take the architectural and landscape design plans provided by our clients and other consultants to generate a working grading and drainage plan for review by various authoritative bodies (usually Planning and Engineering Departments).

We help navigate among these competing interests and find a workable, affordable and approvable plan for development.
